In Syria, two car bomb explosions have hit two security service bases in the capital Damascus, killing more than 30 people and injuring around 100 others, the Syrian government says.
The bombs, which went off within a minute of each other and sent thick plumes of smoke into the sky, rocked the capital city of Damascus.
The casualties occurred when the twin blasts struck the security service bases on Friday.
Syria says initial investigations show the attacks bear hallmarks of an al-Qaeda terrorist operation.
The blasts came as a delegation from the Arab League arrived in the capital to monitor the situation in the country.
